1 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. all purpose flour
1/2 c. applesauce
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c. milk
1 tbsp maple syrup
In a medium bowl, combine dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, cinnamon) and wet ingredients separately (vanilla, eggs, applesauce). Pour wet ingredients into dry, mix thoroughly.
Line bottom of a bread pan with 2 tbsp brown sugar and 1 c. thinly sliced apples (peel removed). Next pour in batter. Sprinkle with a mix of 1 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 c. diced pecans. Swirl into bread. Bake in oven at 350 F for approximately 45 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
